Psychotherapy in English

I offer psychotherapy for adults in Vienna in both German and English. For many people, speaking about personal, emotional or relational difficulties in English can feel more natural — especially if German is not the language in which they feel most at home emotionally. Psychotherapy can be helpful when life feels overwhelming, narrow or difficult to manage: depressive moods, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, grief, separation, inner emptiness, sleep problems or persistent tension can all affect daily life and personal well-being. My therapeutic approach is person-centred and experiential, with influences from Emotion-Focused Therapy and, where helpful, behaviourally informed perspectives. This means that our work does not focus on one method alone, but on what may be useful for you in your specific situation.

In therapy, we can explore what you are experiencing, how certain emotional or relational patterns have developed, and what might help you find more clarity, emotional stability and room for change. Feelings are not seen as a problem to be pushed away, but as important signals that can help us understand what matters, what hurts and what may need attention. Common themes in my practice include anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, self-worth, attachment and relationship difficulties, fear of loss or separation, life transitions, sexuality, grief and stressful or traumatic experiences. LGBT+ and intercultural sensitivity are important parts of my work.

Process and fees

The first step is usually to contact me by e-mail or through the contact form. We will then arrange an initial session to get to know each other, discuss your concerns and clarify whether and how working together may be helpful. Sessions usually last 50 minutes and often take place once a week. Other rhythms may be possible depending on your situation and therapeutic needs.

Fee for psychotherapy, 50 minutes: €120
Initial sessions are charged at the regular session fee.

If you would like to apply for partial reimbursement from the Austrian public health insurance system, we can discuss the necessary steps during the first sessions. A medical confirmation is usually required between the first and second session, and further documentation may be needed if therapy continues beyond ten sessions. All sessions are confidential and subject to the Austrian legal duty of confidentiality for psychotherapists. If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the regular session fee may be charged.

I look forward to hearing from you.
